Pancakes aren’t just for Pancake Day, they’re for life

Pancake day is approaching - but where are the best spots to get your pancake fix in London?

By Making Moves London

For anyone who knows me, they will also know that I have an exceptionally sweet tooth.

I believe that pancakes are something that can be enjoyed at any time of year, however, a whole day dedicated to pancakes is obviously a necessity. It was a fairly demanding task trying and testing pancakes for this blog, however I can wholeheartedly say that I thoroughly enjoyed it (it wasn’t hard to persuade me).

Disclaimer: If you are on a diet, we recommend that you stop reading now.

Here are our top picks across London to fulfil your pancake cravings this Shrove Tuesday:

Bad Egg – Moorgate

These guys offer up a bottomless brunch which will put you in the ultimate carb coma, and very reasonably priced at £35pp. With a wacky selection of buttermilk pancakes such as Fried Chicken and Maple Syrup, you’ll be spoilt for choice.

The Breakfast Club – Various London Locations

With 8 locations across Central London you’re never too far from The Breakfast Club. You can enjoy the retro décor and 90s music (Britney!) while stuffing your face.

I would recommend trying ‘The All American” which includes poached eggs, sausage, home-style potatoes, pancakes with syrup and caramelised bacon.

Where The Pancakes Are – Southwark

Located in Southwark, these guys offer a selection of both savoury and sweet pancakes with a twist. ‘Where The Pancakes Are’ also doubles up a bar, which can be very convenient.

As an alternative option, they offer vegan pancakes which are made with chia seeds, oat milk, a gluten-free organic flour blend, chia seeds and coconut yoghurt.

Balans Soho Society – Soho

For those of you who have ended a night out in the West End, you may well know of ‘Balans’ as a sophisticated all-hours food spot. Pancakes 24/7, what more could you want?!

In addition to pancakes, they also serve an excellent Bloody Mary and Prosecco, as well as having an amazing brunch selection (in the unlikely possibility that pancakes don’t float your boat).

Fortnum & Mason Pancake Café – Piccadilly

Located in the famous food hall, this pop-up pancake café offers a more traditional take on pancakes.

So that’s it… a comprehensive list of where you can get your pancake fix this week. Enjoy!
