Londoners still love to unwind together after a day at the office - we've ranked the best rooftop bars and terraces in the capital.
By Making Moves London
August 13, 2025When the sun shines, nowhere embraces after-work socialising quite like London. As 5pm rolls around, Teams chats across the capital light up with four familiar words: “Anyone fancy a drink?” And while working habits may have changed post-pandemic, one thing hasn’t — Londoners still love to unwind together after a day at the office.
The benefits go beyond just a pint and a laugh, too. A recent KPMG report highlighted the importance of workplace friendships for both mental health and job satisfaction. In fact, when we surveyed 2,000 UK office workers last year, 77% reported enjoying socialising after work.
So, the appetite’s clear, but when golden hour hits, where’s best to head for sunset views?
To find out, we scoured Google Maps for rooftop bars and terraces across the city, ranking each based on factors like Google Reviews, sunset-worthy views, the price of a pint, and how Instagram-friendly the setting is. Here are the 44 bars that made our list:

Our Managing Director, Sally Evans explains why she feels after-work socials are a great way for teams to bond:
“Sometimes the best conversations happen outside the office — and living in London, why not chat with a view of some of the most beautiful sights of our city. Encouraging teams to connect after work isn’t just good fun, it’s good business. A change of scene, some fresh air, and time to unwind together can do wonders for morale, collaboration and mental wellbeing.”
Going out after work starts with having the right office to leave from, so if you’re ready to find your perfect office or even relocate, we can help. Find your perfect space and make golden hour even better.
Methodology
To create the ranking, Making Moves used Google Maps data to source every bar in London with either a rooftop or roof terrace. Google Review Rating data was also sourced via Google Maps. The price of a beer was sourced from individual bar websites, and Instagram was used to source followers count. Points were assigned for each data point, and a relative score was applied. The full dataset can be found here.
