Both Canary Wharf and Stratford have benefited from high levels of investment over the past few years. Stratford’s rise has been mainly due to the 2012 Olympics, which brought both monetary investment and awareness from across the globe. Now that the Olympics legacy has moved on, the area has been attracting office occupiers keen on limiting their exposure to rental levels seen in more central locations, whilst being able to offer staff all the amenities they would expect. This includes a mix of restaurants, one of the largest shopping centres in Europe and open space normally seen in a countryside business park.

Canary Wharf, whilst an established office location already, has seen further investment to improve both the retail and leisure facilities based there. This area has now become a destination in its own right. The area is also due to benefit considerably from Crossrail, which is due in 2018/19.
